Residents are being encourage to come out in force to support this weekend's Manchester Remembers charity football match at Boundary Park.

Oldham Council is supporting the fundraising match, and bought 250 tickets for the game which were given away free to people in the community who might not have been able to attend otherwise.

This game - which kicks off at 3pm on Sunday, July 28 - is important for remembering and raising money for those affected by the Manchester Arena bombing. There are still tickets available to buy here.

Manchester Remembers supports six different charities founded in the aftermath of the attack on May 22, 2017.

The annual match between former legends and celebrities is one of the organisation's main events, bringing communities together through sport and remembrance.

Councillor Arooj Shah, Leader of Oldham Council, said: “As a council we're fully behind Manchester Remembers and are really proud that Oldham is hosting such an important event again.

"This match not only serves as a memorial but also as a reminder of the strength and resilience we all share.

There are still tickets available for those who want to attend and support the cause. Tickets can be purchased at Oldham Athletic Ticket Store
