Included within the town centre redevelopment project, is the restoration of the Old Library.
The refreshed venue will soon become the new home for the Oldham Theatre Workshop, a gallery, and a new council chamber and offices.
Along with Gallery Oldham and the current Library space, the key asset will play a major role in delivering our cultural quarter offer.
Public Space
Located between the Old Library and Old Post Office, is Oldham’s first public park.
We recently approved plans to further strengthen our Cultural Quarter offer to create an open flexible public space off Southgate Street.
This will become a centerpiece, bringing the library, gallery and Old Library together.
The exciting space will be used for hosting events, fairs, performances, and festivals.
