3. Fair Access Protocol
The government believes that all children should receive a good education to help them fulfil their potential.
However, for some children that can be harder than for others.
Sometimes children can find themselves without a school place because their personal circumstances have changed or they have been excluded from a school.
The School Admissions Code requires every local authority to have a Fair Access Protocol.
- Fair Access Protocol GOV.UK website
This protocol ensures that access to education is secured quickly for children that have no school place and that all schools in Oldham take their fair share of children with challenging behaviour.
Oldham children without a school place and falling under one of the fair access categories will take precedence over any children on a waiting list or awaiting an appeal.
