Oldham Town Centre now has a new high-quality public space - Parliament Square
Six new restaurant units will be located within the Old Town Hall alongside a brand new 800-seat, seven screen ODEON cinema.
A stunning glass extension to the side of the Grade II-listed building provides access to the various levels of the cinema and is also the frontage to the new restaurants.
The five ground floor and one first floor restaurant enjoy external seating areas and excellent views across this new public space.
Family friendly restaurants – Nando’s and Molino Lounge can be found in the Old Town Hall.
Parliament Street was first shown on a map in 1824 and now lies beneath the former TJ Hughes store. Parliament Square reflects that historical fact and also – in another nod to Oldham’s heritage – that a group of owls is known as a ‘parliament’.
In 2013 Oldham Council had asked the public for views about what kind of public art should accompany regeneration plans. The results found residents wanted a better street environment with seating, planters and event spaces – plus public art reflecting our heritage as a borough.
The new restaurant units at the Old Town Hall range in size from 2,500 sq ft to 6,070 sq ft and benefit from external seating areas.
Metis Real Estate are letting agents on this project and two units are still available to let.
