6. Appeals
Appeal process for Short Breaks
- Case is heard at Short Breaks Panel and decision made
- Allocated worker provides update to the family on the decision made
- Should the family not agree, they can appeal and will need additional evidence to support their appeal of which will be heard at the next available Short Breaks panel meeting
- Outcome given to the family via allocated worker
- Should the family still not agree, family to be directed to the ombudsman (not complaints team) for independent review of decision
Not in agreement with the appeal decision outcome at the Short Breaks Panel?
After an appeal is heard at the Short Breaks Panel, the final step is to contact the Local Ombudsmen for an independent review of the dispute. Please follow the link below to get in touch with them.
