The Adult Community Wind Band plays a selection of modern and classic repertoire from the wind band tradition.
Who is it for?
Adult Community Wind Band
Anyone who has left full time education and has experience of playing a relevant instrument - flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, cornet, horn (tenor or French), trombone, tuba, percussion.
Potential members may not have played for many years and could be a bit ‘rusty’. The wind band caters for these people as well as players who have only recently taken up an instrument. We also welcome more advanced players.
Late Starters (Adult Training Wind Band)
Only basic knowledge is required, possibly only playing 5 or 6 notes and how to read them from notation (but not complete beginners). This band is a stepping stone to the full adult band for players who have not been playing for long or who have forgotten a lot! The band will perform at least twice a year but typically in smaller venues.
