Recognising challenges in learning or disabilities that hinder a child's ability to access education, requiring additional support.

Identifying children's interests, likes and dislikes and supporting their choices using everyday opportunities for the child to learn about sharing, identifying individual skills and qualities.

Regular communication, observing assessments, progress reports and parent involvement.

How do you adapt for a child with extra needs?

Focus on breaking tasks into smaller steps, using visual aids, technology also personalised learning while also collaborating with parents and carers.

I ensure that children with disabilities can effectively acquire the same information, engage in the same interactions and enjoy the same services as their peers without disabilities.

How do you involve children in outings and trips?

Put risk assessments in place, seek parents consent while also providing necessary support and adaptations as needed,

How do you work with other organisations?

Give them as much information as possible on the child, gather all observations, reports and notes from myself and parents so that they can have as much information as possible.

How do you support children when they start and leave?

I have all about me forms which are very useful and also do a settling in period before the child starts. I also do a transition form for the child leaving my setting to go to school which helps make transition day run as smooth as possible.

How are you/staff trained in extra needs?

I don't have any staff i work on my own.

What is your policy on compliments, complaints, concerns?

Parents can contact my local authority who i am registered with regarding any complaints, concerns or compliments.
