Initial discussions with parents is essential for me to understand your child as an individual so I can support their learning and development within my setting. Through observations and assessments, I can identify any delays, or behaviours that may suggest we need to reach out to external agencies for support around your child’s needs.How do you involve parents/carers?
Regular discussions with parents is essential in identifying a child’s needs and progress. If a child’s learning or development is delayed or different in any given area, I will work closely with parents and support you in contacting external agencies for additional support where appropriate. Working together for the benefit of your child ensures all support is in place for your child to thrive.How do you support a child’s learning and development?
Regular discussions with parents ensures effective team work around the child. I will work closely with you and share my observations, assessments and planning for your child and how you can support their learning and development at home.How do you meet a child’s educational needs?
I work within the EYFS statutory framework to ensure good practice within my setting for your child’s educational and welfare requirements. I am dedicated to each child’s well-being within my setting and will discuss your child’s needs with you to ensure your child’s wellbeing is continually supported to a high standard.How do we know my child is achieving agreed outcomes?
I will send you updates, observations, assessments and planning for your child’s next steps via the tiney app which you are able to access on your parent account. Regular discussions are also valuable to maintain your child’s progress both in my setting and at home.How do you adapt for a child with extra needs?
I adapt my activities both physically and cognitively according to a child’s needs, abilities and interests. Observations, assessments and planning determine the adjustments needed for each child.How accessible is your service, outside and inside?
My learning environments are accessible to all children who are physically able to climb stairs. Unfortunately, I have no wheelchair access and have no stair lift to my bathroom.How do you involve children in outings and trips?
My setting is an inclusive learning environment and this is extends to outdoor play and outings/trips. A risk assessment is always carried out and updated and discussions with parents beforehand to ensure safety and inclusion for your child.How do you work with other organisations?

Discussions with parents around the child’s specific needs and support needed within my setting and when moving on. Observations, assessments and planning. Support from external agencies where needed.How are you/staff trained in extra needs?
I update my SEND training through tineys CPD.What is your policy on compliments, complaints, concerns?
You are able to discuss anything with me initially as I encourage open and honest conversations between myself and parents. I will forward any complaints on to my agency, tiney, and you will receive a written resolution within 28 days. You are also able to contact tiney directly. Tiney’s details are available in my nursery setting, in my complaints policy on the tiney app and on the tiney website. Any compliments are always much appreciated.
