Our counsellors are trained staff and volunteers. All sorts of people become Childline counsellors.
They're real people who want to support you with any issue you’re facing. They're trained but they don't follow a script. If you want to, you can ask them their name.

Sending an email is different to speaking to a counsellor on the phone or online. You can email us anytime without having to wait for a counsellor to be free.
You’ll need an account to send an email, it’s quick and easy to sign up. You don’t need to give your email address or name as you’ll choose a nickname and a username to use at Childline.
