Looking for things to do, a place to hang out, or someone to talk to? This is your one-stop hub for young people in Oldham.

We run free youth clubs, fun activities, specialist projects, and support services for ages 11–19 (up to 25 if you have care experience or additional needs).

Weekly youth centre sessions

All open-access youth clubs are free, drop-in, and open to 11–18s.

Oldham Youth Council — Wednesday, 6:00–8:30pm Elected young people campaigning on issues that matter to Oldham’s youth. Rock Street Resource Centre.

That Thursday Girls’ Group (11–21) Thursday, 6:30–8:30pm A safe, supportive space for young women. Rock Street Resource Centre, OL1 3UJ

THING (13–18) — Thursday, 4:00–6:00pm A group for care-experienced young people. Venue advised by the team.

MAN Project (15–19) — Day/time shared by the team A group for young men. Rock Street Resource Centre.

Support When You Need It

Life isn’t always easy. We can connect you with trusted support:

Mental Health

TOG - Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mental health service: Our counsellors can support you in making the necessary changes you feel comfortable with.

Young people’s mental health support team: We support young people, aged from four until your eighteenth birthday, experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, such as worry and low mood

Kooth - Your online mental wellbeing community: Chat to our helpful team about anything that's on your mind. Message us or have a live chat.

Oldham CAMHS: We help children and young people up to the age of 18 years and provide support to their families or carers.

Safety & Welfare — Our youth workers are trained to support if you feel unsafe or need someone to talk to.

Employment and training

Get Oldham Working: Get Oldham Working is a Council service that aims to help people find work and training opportunities.

Student allowances: If you’re aged between 16 and 19 years and think you might struggle with the costs for full-time education or training, you may be eligible for a bursary.
